Margaret M. Chase

Margaret Chase is a native of Greensboro. She graduated from Furman University in 1999 and obtained her law degree at Wake Forest University in 2004. She is admitted to practice in all North Carolina State Courts, all North Carolina Federal District Courts and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. She frequently appears in civil state court throughout North Carolina, from the coast to the mountains.

Margaret concentrates her practice on representing homeowner and condominium associations on matters related to the administration and governance of their communities. In her practice, Margaret advises boards of directors regarding the performance of their obligations and responsibilities, potential liabilities, and their relationship with the members of the association. Her practice routinely includes drafting, revising and interpreting association documents to provide assistance in the enforcement of rules, covenants, and restrictions including litigation.  Margaret also oversees the firm’s assessment collection practice which includes liens, foreclosures and bankruptcy. In addition, Margaret works with real estate developers on the development, creation and organization of community associations. Margaret is active with Community Association Institute, has served on the National Business Partners Council and currently serves on various committees for the North Carolina Chapter, including the Legislative Action Committee.

Along with providing proficient counsel, Margaret values connection and community which is a driving force behind her practice. She thoroughly enjoys building trust and developing long-term relationships with her clients. Margaret has also made it a priority to serve the Greensboro community and has been on the Board of Directors for several organizations including the Piedmont Classical High School, Sherwood Swim & Tennis Club and First Presbyterian Church.

Margaret and her husband, James, are the proud parents of two teenage sons and an adorable three-year-old Cavapoo. Outside of work, Margaret enjoys time in the NC mountains with her family and staying active outdoors, including completion of several half marathons and triathlons.
