Michael C. Taliercio

​Michael Taliercio graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa in 2004 with Honors and from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2006. He relocated to North Carolina in 2008, in part to avoid the frigid Minnesota winters.  After close to 15 years at a midsized firm in Greensboro, Michael was delighted to rejoin Jenny and Margaret, longtime friends and trusted colleagues, to form Ruby Chase Taliercio.

Michael is admitted to practice in North Carolina, New York, and Massachusetts, and all North Carolina Federal District Courts. Michael has a diverse practice, representing individuals, non-profit entities and businesses on contractual disputes, real estate matters and bankruptcy. A focus of Michael’s practice is the representation of community associations, and he regularly advises his community association clients on a variety of issues, including governance, directors and members meetings, collections, governing document analysis and amendment, and contractual disputes. He has represented hundreds of community associations across the state of North Carolina on all these types of matters and more.  Michael has significant experience in the more unusual nuances of collections for community associations, such as representing associations in bankruptcy cases.

Michael is also a Professional Registered Parliamentarian credentialed by the National Association of Parliamentarians and a is past president of the American College of Parliamentary Lawyers. He is an extremely knowledgeable convention parliamentarian, having served in that role in more than seventy-five such meetings over the past decade.  Michael has assisted as parliamentarian to numerous professional associations and labor unions around the county, including the American Nurses Association, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, the National Treasury Employees Union and many others. In addition, Michael provides parliamentary training for organizations and was a presenter at the National Association of Parliamentarians 2022 National Training Conference.

Michael is an active member of the community. He is a past president of the board of directors of Deep Roots Market (a community owned food cooperative), and a past treasurer of the Center for Visual Artists (a 501(c)(3) non-profit that provides art education in schools and operates a gallery showcasing local artists).  More personally, Michael and his wife are the adoring parents of a teenage daughter, a jack russell terrier, and a poodle.  Michael enjoys running, hiking, and traveling.
