Jennifer L. Ruby

Jennifer Ruby graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006 and graduated, cum laude, from the Elon University School of Law in 2010. She is admitted to practice in all North Carolina State Courts, all North Carolina Federal District Courts and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. She frequently appears in civil state court throughout North Carolina, from the mountains to the Outer Banks. In 2021, Jennifer left the firm she had practiced with for more than a decade and formed her own law firm. Jennifer is thrilled to reunite with two of her former coworkers to form Ruby Chase Taliercio.

Jennifer’s practice primarily focuses on civil litigation, landlord/tenant matters, estate litigation disputes, partition proceedings, incompetency matters and post judgment collections.

Jennifer is passionate about giving back to the community. She was recognized as a member of the North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society in 2018 and 2019 for providing 50 or more hours of pro bono legal services each year, has been a volunteer attorney with the Women’s Resource Center for several years and has appeared on local news stations to answer various legal questions. Jennifer served for several years as a Preceptor for the Elon University School of Law and is the former president of the Elon Law Alumni Council.

Jennifer is also very involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and has been consistently recognized as a Top 100 fundraiser for the annual New Bern BikeMS event. In 2018, Jennifer was selected as a local “Star” to dance in the Tenth Annual “Dancing with the Carolinas Stars” event benefiting Operation Smile Carolinas. She is also 2016 graduate of Leadership Greensboro.

Jennifer is an avid UNC Tarheel fan, and enjoys cheering for the Carolina Panthers and Denver Broncos. When she is not working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
